John Kennedy Fact 3:The Assassination of the president: He was shot and died on November 22, 1963 in Dallas, Texas. The assassin was named as Lee Harvey Oswald. All of the Presidents of the USA who were assassinated have had their likenesses stamped on coins or paper money. The front of the half dollar (50 cent coin) has featured the profile of JFK since 1964. His portrait was designed by Gilroy Roberts.
 
John Kennedy Fact 4:He was assassinated just under 3 years into his presidency. He was succeeded by Lyndon B. Johnson who served the remainder of the term and was elected president in 1964.

His elder brother Joe Jr. was groomed to run the presidency but he died when his plane exploded over England during WW2. His brother Ted entered politics but his reputation was ruined in the Chappaquiddick incident. After the murder of JFK, his brother Robert was assassinated by Sirhan Bishara Sirhan immediately following his victory in the California Democratic presidential primary

JFK Fact 11:Presidential Cabinet: The name of his Vice President was Lyndon B. Johnson (1961-63). The name of his Secretary of State was Dean Rusk (1961-63). He chose his brother, Robert F. Kennedy, to serve as Attorney General.
 
JFK Fact 12:Personality: He oozed charm, grace, wit and sensitivity. These personality traits, together with his youthful good looks, were responsible for his great popularity as president. He was also popular with women and was involved in several extra marital affairs. The most famous was his involvement with Marilyn Monroe who famously sang "Happy Birthday" to the president at his 45th birthday party.
 
JFK Fact 13:He had great ambition and vision  for the country. His presidency was referred to as the American Camelot to reflect the ideals of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table in the Camelot in the ancient legend.
